Senior IT Support and Systems Engineer

We are seeking a Senior IT Support and Systems Engineer to provide technical support and system administration services to our clients. As a Senior IT Support and Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our clients' IT infrastructure, troubleshooting technical issues, and providing expert advice on hardware and software solutions. Additionally, you will be expected to provide training and support to junior members of the team. Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support on Microsoft server platforms including installation, configuration, upgrades and maintenance;
  • Be experienced on routers, firewalls, switches, server technologies, wireless infrastructure, IP telephony, configuration;
  • Managing and monitoring all installed systems and infrastructure
  • Installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools
  • Ensuring the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
  • Troubleshooting and resolving complex issues related to operating systems, applications, hardware, and networks
  • Maintaining security, backup, and redundancy strategies
  • Providing technical support to end-users in a timely and efficient manner
  • Documenting system configurations and procedures
  • Conducting periodic system performance tests and providing performance statistics and reports
  • Collaborating with other team members to develop and implement new solutions and improve existing ones
  • Participating and leading IT projects as required
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in IT support and systems engineering
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols and technologies
  • Strong knowledge of cloud computing technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • IT certification (e.g. MCSA, CCNA, MTCNA, CompTIA A+, 3CX) is preferred
  • A clean driving licence and own transport.

Junior IT Support Officer

We are looking for a young and cheerful Junior IT Support Officer to join our support our team. The ideal candidate would be expected: - to be responsible, works on own initiative and is eager to learn and grow within the IT field. - hold a diploma or degree in computer science or possess any IT related qualifications; - provide technical support including installation, configuration, upgrades, maintenance, and cabling as well as repairing and replacing computer parts and other hardware located at our workshop or on-site, in a timely manner; - document systems and / or network problems and resolution for future reference; - maintain inventory of equipment and parts, as well as documentation; - be fluent in written and spoken Maltese and English; - be capable of working under pressure and meet deadlines; - be highly motivated, meticulous and possess good organizational skills; - have a clean driving licence and own transport.
